Early on while watching VENOM I turned to my friend Charlie and asked, "OK, who is Tom Hardy copying in how he plays his role?" He thought for only a second and answered, "Ratso Rizzo!"

I had the same reaction. Watching Hardy shamble around San Francisco at night definitely reminded me of Ratso, minus Joe Buck, of course.

This is not meant as a criticism. In fact, I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this goofy movie. Normally Marvel movies bore me but I'll put this one right up there with ANTMAN AND THE WASP. Definitely fun!
