Peyton Reed’s ANT-MAN AND THE WASP
A movie review by Dennis D McDonald
As with the first ANT-MAN movie, this one displays a much lighter touch than the bombast and destruction commonly associated with Marvel films. Not only that but the characters are well developed and the casting is excellent.
Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, and Michael Peña stand out but, really, everyone is excellent.
Walton Goggins as the main “bad guy” is appropriately smarmy. He had me thinking back to the nasty but dense henchman in the original Total Recall played by Michael Ironside. Also, Peña’s “truth serum” sequence has to be seen to be believed.
This movie is a real charmer and is highly recommended as an ideal and high quality Summer popcorn movie.
