Why I gave up Twitter -- again

By Dennis D. McDonald

I deleted my Twitter account a couple of weeks ago. I was tired of all the misinformation. I was also tired of how so many liberal commentators were constantly pushing tweets containing the latest outrageous news about Trump. I already know the guy is dangerous and corrupt — stop promoting his words and images!

Twitter misinformation was the real kicker. There’s no question Twitter is a great way of keeping up with what’s happening in the world. The problem is, lies and misinformation spread just as fast the truth on Twitter. Telling the difference between truth and lies is always a challenge, especially when it comes to breaking news.

There are many other ways to keep up with the news, as I discussed last year in Where I Get My News These Days. And, no, it’s not just about trying to expose myself to people who agree with me politically. I want to know the facts so I can make up my own mind. So goodbye Twitter — again!
