The World Is Not Flat

By Dennis D. McDonald

The World Is Not Flat

That's my conclusion after spending time in Sevilla and Barcelona over the past two weeks.

Being without a cellphone and computer in a foreign country forces certain changes that include both the subtle and the profound.

The subtle: when you become separated in a crowd and haven't coordinated a rendezvous point, you end up walking around a lot.

The profound: not understanding the subtleties of how siesta hours  affect supermarket schedules can lead to major changes in eating plans.
